Hermes Mobile Notary & Translations is a small New Jersey business founded and operated by Mike Ortega, a Hispanic New Jersey native who was born and raised in Hudson County. Although Mike is a legal professional in New York by day, Mike started Hermes Mobile Notary & Translations as a way to reconnect with his love for languages and helping members of the local community with their notarization and translation needs.

Mike’s love for languages started in his early days as a child, helping his Spanish-speaking family read and understand documents at all reading levels. Seeing how bilingual speakers could help bridge gaps between different communities, Mike carried this interest into his higher education, and graduated with honors from Rutgers University with a double major in Linguistics and Italian, and a minor in Spanish with a concentration in Spanish Linguistics. Mike has worked in a professional capacity with both English and Spanish speakers for the last ten years, has complex experience across a variety of industries beyond the legal services industry. Mike also has a love for the world of branding, and has unique insight on the role language plays in the world of branding.
